Thanks to a global pandemic we get to think completely differently about Christmas activities this year and to be innovative. These are the events we are planning – please read through and think about which ones you’d like to get involved with. Some require booking in advance. 24 hours of Advent prayer - before we enter advent we are encouraging everyone to sign up to fill 24 hours with prayer. this is a great opportunity to pray for our community and our church family as we enter the season of Advent. Please sign up on our website.
Youth virtual advent calendar – on our Youth YouTube page there will be a daily post to help us think through advent.
Advent windows – the Friday Club team are working on a project where for each day of Advent, a new window in the village will display an advent scene. This is primarily aimed at families but could be fun for anyone. There will be a map showing the location of each window.
Friday 11th December – Family Friday Christingle service. This will be a short, simple service for young families. On Zoom if not allowed in church.
Saturday 12th December – Bread and Starlight. This is a production by the Lamps Collective which helps us to prepare for Christmas by looking at the story of Elizabeth. The play will be streamed through a link rather than performed in person. If restrictions allow it will be in church, but if not, the link will be given to people to allow them to watch from their own homes.
Tuesday 15th December – 10am Christmas buggy service – for those with babies to come and hear the Christmas story. Short service with readings, short talk and some recorded music.
Wednesday 16th December, 6pm– Doorstep carols – you are encouraged to stand on your doorstep at 6pm and enthusiastically sing some well-known carols. We need willing volunteers in each area of the village to come out their front doors and sing! If you are one of the main roads through the village then why not make your way to another road near you to join in instead. This is part of a nationwide initiative with the carols being played on local radio stations. https://www.doorstepcarols.co.uk/
Sunday 20th December, 4pm - Longest night service– for those who find Christmas difficult. Short service with readings, a short talk and some recorded music. Live streamed on our YouTube channel
Sunday 20th December, 6pm – Virtual Carol service – a small group of singers and a small music group will perform carols and songs, interspersed with readings and a small talk. Live streamed on our YouTube channel.
Wednesday 23rd December, 10am – Daylight Carol service – a Short service of carols and readings for those who do not have access to the technology for the live-streamed service.
24th December - Christmas Eve walk – instead of a Crib service, there will be a Christmas Eve trail through th churchyard that tells the Christmas story. More details nearer the time.

25th December, 10am - Christmas Day service – Family communion with sign-in as usual (live streamed)
